Complimentary lunch set gift packs to taxi drivers and prizes for team members
(Macao, May 18, 2012)– The first 200 Macao taxi drivers who arrived at Sands Macao Friday were treated to a special gift pack, including a lunch set, as part of the auspicious eighth anniversary celebrations of Sands Macao.
The annual tradition is a way for Sands® Macao to show its appreciation for the services provided to the Macao community and to visitors alike by Macao’s fleet of hardworking cab drivers. The gift pack included a hot lunch, fresh seasonal fruit, Chinese birthday buns and a soft drink. In addition, each lucky taxi driver was presented with a special commemorative gift.
The week-long celebration of Sands Macao’s eighth anniversary in May has included daily lucky draws with attractive prizes, including the popular, ultra-high-resolution new iPad; a special Sands Rewards Club redemption offer of crystal lucky golden dragons; limited-edition menus at irresistible prices at all Sands Macao dining outlets; and exciting entertainment with well-known Hong Kong actress and singer Mimi Chu giving a free concert on Saturday, May 19 at 10 pm at Xanadu.
The eighth anniversary celebrations were exciting behind the scenes of Sands Macao as well. Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sands Casino-Hotel Geoffry Andres participated in a special cake-cutting ceremony as part of the Sands Macao team member celebration, which included a special lunch menu, entertainment by talented in-house performers, and chances to win fabulous prizes from games and lucky draws.
Thanking the team members for their efforts, Sands China Ltd. President and Chief Executive Officer Edward Tracy addressed them, saying “Exactly eight years ago on this day in 2004, Sands Macao opened its doors to Macao and to the world. Because of your dedication and hard work, we have achieved the unimaginable, which was to build the first Las Vegas-style hotel-casino in Macao, bringing extraordinary experiences to our guests together.”
