Macao,
Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (June 18th,
2007) – Sands Macao, the
first Las Vegas-style casino and entertainment complex in Macao, held a
‘gold-themed’ team members party today to celebrate its three years of
operations.
The super-sized special birthday
celebration was an almost full-day event, in three celebration sessions, in
order to accommodate the total 9,500 team members that now work for the
company. Hong Kong entertainers Q Bo Bo and
Lei Lok See led the performance, which included team members’ talent show; a
giant-size lucky draw with big prizes including a car as a fabulous first
prize; fortune telling; calligraphy and caricaturist; and a special prize for
the most ‘golden-attired’ guest.
Each year’s “Bravo
of the Year” will be announced and awarded during the Annual Team Member
Party. This is an encouragement to the
sustainable team work and development of all team members. This year, five team members have been
awarded “Bravo of the Years”, and it
also includes “Distinguished Award” and “Excellent Award” respectively.
“Distinguished Award” includes a cash prize of MOP$50,000, one night
accommodation at The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, MOP1,000 cash coupon at the
fine dining restaurants of The Venetian and free deluxe spa services for two
persons. Cash prize of MOP$25,000 will be given to “Excellent Award”
winners. In addition, a special
“Venetian Management Achievement Award” will be given this year in recognition
of the management team members who have achieved outstanding performance. Seven
team members have been awarded and each of them received a cash prize of MOP$10,000.

employment and economy,” said Mr. Mark Brown,
President of Sands Macao and The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, “it is important
to remember that, since our last celebration, we have grown by over 1,440 team
members, recruiting across a wide range of jobs in the catering, F&B, administrative and other areas of the business
which are providing lasting, long-term and progressive career opportunities for
people in Macao. Indeed, over the last
12 months, we have well over 3,500 Sands Macao team members who have gained
career promotions”.
